South American Red-Foot Tortoises are beautiful tropical tortoises known for the bright red, orange, or yellow markings on their legs, head, and tail. They are generally calm, curious animals and can become quite comfortable around their owners with regular, gentle interaction.
Unlike many dry-climate tortoise species, Red-Foot Tortoises come from warmer, more humid environments. They require a spacious enclosure with appropriate heat, UVB lighting, humidity, fresh water, and plenty of room to explore. Their diet is varied and should include leafy greens, vegetables, flowers, some fruit, and occasional sources of animal protein.
Red-Foot Tortoises are a long-term commitment and can live for several decades with proper care. Because their enclosure and dietary needs change as they grow, our team can help you choose the appropriate habitat, lighting, food, and supplies.
Please note that size, shell pattern, coloration, sex, and personality may vary between individual tortoises.
